In this big, competitive world of ours, you’ve probably found that you have a few different options when it comes to digitization services. Googling around, you’ve likely run into different companies who seem to do the exact same thing. The good news is that you’re mostly right! There are different businesses that take your old film, pictures, and tapes and digitize them. But, even though they seem to do the same thing, they’re not all created equally.

Since you’re on the Kodak blog, you’ve obviously found us. You also may have found a company called Nostalgic Media. After comparing the two, you might have had more questions than answers. Don’t worry. We’re here to help.

When comparing digitization services, there are a few things you’ll want to look out for. So that you can compare the two services apples to apples--or should we say digital to digital--I’ve created a handy chart that compares the Kodak Digitization with Nostalgic Media. Shop in confidence!

Differences in a Nutshell

Kodak is an industry leader when it comes to pictures and video. Founded way back in 1888, we have over 100 years of history when it comes to creating and sharing memories. From creating our very first camera to our current digitization services, we’re always at the forefront of new ways to document your life’s story. We’re located in Chattanooga, TN, and we’re the only people who touch your precious pictures and videos from start to finish. We provide truly exceptional customer service, and we keep you posted on the status of your project from your home, to us, and back again.

Nostalgic Media specializes in home video repair. They consider themselves experts at restoring and refinishing old home movies. Because of that, they’re a bit more expensive than Kodak, and they don’t accept as many formats and media types. They also don’t provide any packing materials or step by step tracking.

The Final Verdict

If we’re directly comparing the two, they’re slightly different services. If you want a single, one-stop-shop solution, Kodak is the better choice. If your memories are in rough shape, Nostalgic Media might be able to refurbish them.
