It’s spooky season! Halloween is just a few short days away, and so many of us are trying to decide what costume to put together for the holiday.
There are so many great ideas to choose from, but it can be difficult to pick just one if you’re a Halloween fanatic.
If you’re getting anxious about choosing your Halloween costume, never fear! We’ve compiled some of the best Halloween costume ideas for this year in one place so that you can choose a great outfit for the Halloween party or trick-or-treating.
Here are our picks:
Pennywise from It
It: Chapter Two came out this past September and had fans stoked to see their favorite horrifying clown on the big screen once again. When the first installment of the It franchise remake was released in 2017, Pennywise costumes were flying off the shelves like crazy. Now that the second film is out, we’re expecting to see lots of Pennywise impersonators out and about on Halloween night.
Fortnite skins
Two years ago, Fortnite came onto the video game scene and won the hearts of big and small gamers all over the globe. People fell in love with the dances, the skins, and the gameplay, and Fortnite quickly became one of the most popular games to date. Still two years later, Fortnite skins are expected to be one of the top costumes for Halloween.
Eleven from Stranger Things
When Netflix released Stranger Things: Chapter Four this fourth of July, everyone binge-watched the new season before going to Independence day parties and firework shows. The release of the new season brought lots of fans, both new and old, back to the town of Hawkins and the Upside-Down. You can expect there to be a lot of Elevens out trick-or-treating this year!
Forky from Toy Story 4
Nearly ten years after the acclaimed Toy Story 3 was released, Pixar came back with a brand new installment in the Toy Story franchise that a new, younger generation could enjoy. Toy Story 4 includes some brand new characters, one of which is the lovable Forky - a spork with a face and pipe cleaner arms and a cheerful personality. There are a lot of Forky costumes available in stores this Halloween season, but there are also lots of tutorials online for making DIY versions of Forky costumes, something that I’m sure a homemade toy like Forky would really appreciate.
Captain Marvel
This year marked the introduction of Marvel’s first female-led superhero film. Captain Marvel had great reception from audiences everywhere, and fans immediately fell in love with the character and her story. It’s no surprise that the first-ever female Marvel superhero to get her own movie is a top pick for women’s and girl’s Halloween costumes.
Spiderman
It’s the superhero that never ceases to be popular, and has the most remakes of any superhero movies to date. Spiderman continues to be a popular option for Halloween costumes this year with the release of the Avengers: Endgame movie.
Simba from The Lion King
This summer there were a couple of live-action Disney remakes released, one of those being The Lion King. With an all-star cast featuring names like Beyoncé, Donald Glover, James Earl Jones, and more, the remake of the Disney classic was a hit. Simba costumes (and lions in general) will be a popular pick this season.
Aladdin
Another Disney live-action remake this summer that had families flocking to the movie theaters was Aladdin. The musical came to life with talented new actors and superstars alike. It won’t be surprising to see lots of Aladdins and Jasmines out and about this Halloween!
The doppelgangers from Us
One of the most anticipated horror movies of 2019 was Jordan Peele’s Us. After the success of his first horror film Get Out, his fans were very excited to be terrified by a new horror movie from the talented director. We expect to see a lot of red jumpsuits, gold scissors, and plush white rabbits out this Halloween.
Thanos
Thanos is the ultimate supervillain in the Marvel franchise, and with the release of Avengers: Endgame, it’s likely that there will be lots of people painting themselves purple and wearing Thanos masks this October 31st.
