Summer is coming close to an end, but that doesn’t mean the travel bug is going into hibernation any time soon! If you’re like me, you dream of vacationing year-round. In the summertime, beachy destinations call my name and in the winter, it’s all about mountaintop getaways.

Just because colder weather is approaching, that doesn’t mean we can’t start planning our next big trip!
In the era of social media, every vacation is a photo opportunity. Each beautiful, unique, and tranquil destination that people visit is highlighted on their Instagram pages. Social media influencers get top likes on their travel posts. There’s something in all of us that appreciates relaxation and getting away, and we love to daydream about visiting the places that we see on our feeds.

So what vacation destinations are the most photographed on Earth? Let’s take a look and see what the hottest travel spots are right now, according to social media.

New York City, New York: USA

It’s no surprise that the Big Apple takes the cake as the most photographed city on Earth. With a population of 8.6 billion and annual tourism of around 60 million visitors, it’s easy to understand why so many pictures are being taken of the beautiful city that never sleeps! Some of the most photographed locations in New York City are the Brooklyn and Washington bridges, Grand Central Station, Times Square, and Central Park.

London, England

Ready for some afternoon tea? London takes the second-place spot on the list of the most photographed cities in the world. Known for its iconic destinations like Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and the Millenium Bridge, London also has a few quirky and colorful photo-ops up its sleeves, like Churchill Arms and Neil’s Yard.

Paris, France

Known as the most romantic city in the world, millions of travelers flock to Paris each year to experience the beauty and love that the city has to offer. Some of Paris’ most beloved photography destinations include the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysée and the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, and the Cathedral at Notre Dame.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Dubai is the capital of the UAE, and also one of the most photographed destinations in the Middle East. The city is known for its opulent hotels, gorgeous beaches, and breathtaking art installments and gardens. Some of Dubai’s most photographed locations include Miracle Garden, Jumeirah Beach, the Dubai Fountain, and the Dubai Desert.

Singapore, Singapore

The islands of Singapore are some of the most beautiful on Earth, which is why tourism is one of the city-state’s greatest industries. Every year, millions of people travel to this beautiful city to see sites such as the Supertree Grove, the gardens and waterfalls of the Cloud Forest, and the Marina Barrage.

Seattle, Washington: USA

Out of each destination on the list, Seattle is the most unexpected. While the Pacific Northwestern city receives lots of tourism, its natural beauty is often overlooked. Seattle offers some of the world’s most jaw-dropping natural landmarks. Some of Seattle’s most photographed locations are Snoqualmie Falls, the Sky Needle, Mount Rainier, Pike Place Market, and Puget Sound.

Did any of these locations surprise you as being the most photographed in the world? Each of these cities offers their own unique experiences and views, and travelers flock to these destinations each year, taking countless pictures of iconic places and landmarks. Would you like to visit any of these locations? If you do, make sure you take lots of pictures!
