The technical questions, answered.
How is motion-picture film digitized?
KODAK Digitizing uses a frame-by-frame scanning process with a proprietary UV LED backlight designed to keep film cool and safe during capture.
How are slides, photos and negatives handled?
A professional scanning process creates high-resolution JPEG images. One trained specialist is assigned to each order.
What happens to videotapes and audio?
Videotapes and audio are loaded and monitored by hand through the Digital Workflow. Supported audio cassettes and reels are delivered as WAV files.
Will I get my original media back?
Yes. Digitized versions are returned along with the original tapes, reels, prints, slides, negatives and audio media.
How will I know where my media is?
The box includes item barcodes, a prepaid UPS return label and regular email updates throughout the process.
How long does it take?
Turnaround is approximately four to six weeks after the KODAK Digitizing Box is received.
What exact formats can I send?
Accepted formats include VHS-family and camcorder tapes; Regular 8, Super 8, Regular 16 and Super 16 film; multiple consumer slide formats; prints, 35mm negatives and supported audio cassettes and reels.
What if I find more media while packing?
Extra safety barcodes are included. Additional items can be invoiced after the box is received.
